How do I apply to become an NYU CAC College Adviser?

 

Click on the Join the Team tab or button, scroll to the bottom of the page, click on Apply Now button, and begin your application! 

 

Who can apply to become a College Adviser?

 

Anyone who has obtained (or will obtain) a bachelor’s degree prior to the position’s start date, and is willing to commit at least one year of their time to helping increase college access to low-income, first-generation, and underrepresented high school students.

 

Do I have to be a graduate of NYU to apply to become an NYU CAC College Adviser?

 

No, graduates of any 4-year higher education institution can apply to become a College Adviser.

 

Outside of the application form, do I need to complete any additional steps to apply to become a College Adviser?

 

No, the only material one needs to submit to apply is the application form. For prospective candidates, a Résumé is required to complete the application form. A Cover Letter is not required to complete the application. 

 

When does NYU CAC begin screening and interviewing candidates for the College Adviser position? 

 

We are always reviewing applications and interviewing candidates, regardless of the time of the academic year.

 

Are you currently recruiting College Advisers for immediate hire? 

Yes, applicants can apply for immediate hire by completing the 2020-2021 College Adviser application form and indicating their interest in being considered for immediate hire in the form. Immediate hire positions open sporadically throughout the academic year, leaving several openings for hire prior to the typical August 1st 2020 start date.

Where do College Advisers work?

 

College Advisers work full-time at one of our partner high schools in one of the boroughs of New York City.

Are College Advisers employees of NYU?

 

Yes, College Advisers are full-time employees of NYU.

 

Can College Advisers receive tuition remission for their work?

 

Yes, as employees of NYU, College Advisers are eligible to receive tuition remission for degree-granting graduate study at NYU after one full year of employment. 

 

Is NYU CAC affiliated with Americorps? 

 

No.
